Stephen is the CEO and CUO of Everest’s newly formed Insurance operations in Ireland. In this role, Stephen has a range of responsibilities that are typical with a start-up operation. This includes identifying and securing talent across underwriting, operations, technology, finance, governance and compliance. As a regulated insurer a lot of the role involves closely working with the Central Bank of Ireland. One of the primary objectives for establishing this entity is to provide options for Everest clients with respect to their European and other global needs. As such, building awareness of Everest Ireland within our community of distribution partners is a key to our growth prospects.
Stephen joined Everest on 29th May 2017 having spent the prior 16 years working with Aon where he held a variety of roles over the years including Chief Innovation Officer for Aon Risk Solutions, CEO of Aon Global Risk Consulting and CEO of Aon GRIP Solutions. These businesses comprised of Aon’s global offerings on captive management, enterprise risk management, risk control and engineering, data and analytics, crisis management, claims, non-life actuarial and risk consulting. Prior to Aon, Stephen spent 10 years with International Risk Management Group which was a privately held global advisor in the complex risk management space and led the sale of IRMG to Aon in 2001. In his early career he worked with a number of Insurers in Ireland.
Over his career Stephen has lived in the Ireland, UK, the Cayman Islands and the USA.
Stephen is a Fellow of The Chartered Insurance Institute (FCII), a Chartered Insurer (CI), and Associate in Risk Management (ARM) and a C.Dip in Accounting & Finance (C.Dip.A.F). He successfully completed the Advanced Management Program in Harvard University in 2006.
