Markus Gesmann

Markus heads up the Analysis function at Lloyd’s of London. He is responsible for analytical research and development in underwriting performance. Markus joined the Analysis team shortly after the formation of the Franchise Performance Directorate and helped to build many of the benchmarking tools to oversee the Lloyd’s market. He has been closely involved in establishing a consistent framework for price monitoring.

More recently he helped to establish the risk appetite framework under Solvency II and developed predictive models to review business plans. During his career he worked also for a German reinsurer and London-based investment bank. Markus studied mathematics at the University of Cologne, Germany.
