Helen Tynan

Helen Tynan is Director of People Operations for Google in Ireland. Google employs over 7,000 people in Ireland between direct employees and contractor staff.
Helen heads up People Operations (aka HR) – a team with ~200 employees. She also acts as a HR Business Partner for the Global Advisory Functions with 1500+ employees across EMEA.

Helen joined Google in 2010, with 20+ years prior experience in senior HR positions with multinational companies such as Dell, Oracle, General Electric, Creative Labs and Amdahl-Fujitsu. Helen has a varied educational background – having studied Education & French, before moving into Computer Science, and then finally finding her true calling when studying Human Resources. Originally from Cork (the true capital of Ireland!), in her spare time Helen and her husband, Tom, run around after 4 children, two dogs and a cat.
